2019 Alternative Learning System (ALS) A&E Test Schedule

There is already a schedule for the 2019 Alternative Learning System (ALS) A&E Test! The highly anticipated dates were announced to selected ALS implementers. The ALS district coordinator in our place got the information when she attended an ALS Regional Seminar last January 9 to 11 2019 titled "Training of Trainers on Life Skills for DepEd ALS Implementers".

ALS A&E Test Schedule for 2019

  • The schedule of the ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test (A&E Test) for Luzon learners will be on February 24, 2019 and
  • The schedule of the A&E Test for Visayas and Mindanao learners will be on March 3, 2019.

February / March 2019 Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test SCHEDULE

Aside from the schedule of the exams, the schedule for the registration of A&E Test applicants was also stated in an advanced copy of a Department of Education (DepEd) Memorandum that was circulated among the said ALS implementers.

It says on the memorandum that
"The A&E Test applicants may register from January 3 to 31, 2019 at the schools division offices (SDOs) or district offices (DOs) identified by the schools division superintendents (SDSs) as registration centers."

The said advanced copy of the DepEd Memorandum was titled "2018 Accreditation and Equivalency Test Registration and Administration" and addressed to the following:
  • Undersecretaries
  • Assistant Secretaries
  • Bureau and Service Directors
  • Regional Directors
  • Public and Private Elementary School Heads
  • All Others Concerned
It is set to be signed by DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones.

Who can take the A&E Test on February 24 2019 and March 3 2019?

According to the DepEd memorandum, the following may take the ALS A&E Test:
  1. learners in the ALS and Non-formal Education Programs,
  2. out-of-school children and youth who are prepared for assessment,
  3. adults who are seeking Certification of Learning.
Another important information that can be found in the memorandum is the age requirement. It says that A&E Test applicants for the Elementary level need to be at least 12 years old while those for Junior High School level need to be at least 16 years old on the day of the examination.

A&E Test Registration Requirements

For those who are going to register for the A&E Test scheduled on February 24 and March 3 2019, they would have to bring the following registration requirements:
  1. original and photocopy of Certification of ALS Program Completion issued by the Learning Facilitator (for ALS learners only),
  2. original and photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), formerly National Statistics Office (NSO),
  3. Two 1x1 or 2x2 identical ID photo (white background with name tag),
  4. if copy of Birth Certificate from the PSA/NSO is not available, any of the following documents can be presented:
    1. Baptismal Certificate,

    3. Valid Passport,
    4. Valid Driver's License and
    5. Any legal document bearing the applicant's picture, name and signature (e.g., NBI Clearance, Police Clearance)
These requirements are very important because only registered applicants with complete requirements will be allowed to take the A&E Test at the assigned testing centers.

Will the PORTFOLIO be Part of the Final Rating?

Item Number 10 on the DepEd memorandum says that Portfolio Assessment will NOT be required and will NOT be part of the final rating for the February 24 2019 (Luzon) and March 3 2019 (Visayas and Mindanao) ALS A&E Test. The test will be purely MULTIPLE CHOICE!

What is the Passing Rate for the Feb 24 and March 3 2019 ALS A&E Test?

The passing rate is still 60%! The passing score of 60% was approved and officially announced via  DepEd Memorandum No. 076 s. 2018. The same will still be applied for the upcoming A&E Test this 2019.
